The higher acrylic solids content will form an excellent surface coating with a high gloss finish and will provide an outstanding cure performance. J-22 U.V. will be ultraviolet light stable and resist yellowing. |
| STANDARDS | | MEETS SPECIFICATIONS: ASTM C-156 (Method of testing water retention for ASTM C-309) ASTM C-309, Type 1, Classes A & B ASTM C-1315, Type 1, Class A AASHTO M-148, Type 1, Classes A & B USDA Accepted for Incidental Food Contact Note: Federal Specification TTC-800A has been cancelled and officially replaced by ASTM C-309. | ADVANTAGES | | PURPOSE: Day-Chem Cure & Seal 1315 (J-22 U.V.) provides a combination curing, sealing and dustproofing for freshly finished interior or exterior concrete surfaces. It meets the ASTM C-309 & ASTM C-1315 specifications as an outstanding curing compound and is an excellent dustproofer and surface sealer. J-22 U.V. will resist many chemicals, help protect against staining and allows easy removal of mortar splatters. J-22 U.V. is compatible with Dayton Superior Safe Seal Heavy Duty (J-24 H.D.)Sealer. ADVANTAGES: • High Solids content • Cures (Meets ASTM C-309) • Cure & Seals (Meets ASTM C-1315) • Dustproofs • Forms a Clear Film • U.V. Stable, Resists Yellowing • Five Year Warranty (Contact Dayton Superior for details) |
| APPLICATION | | Fresh Concrete: Apply J-22 U.V. immediately after all surface water has disappeared and the surface cannot be marred. Application of J-22 U.V. too early or too late can affect the overall curing performance. Use low pressure spray, roller or brush. A Chapin Industrial Sprayer, Model 1949 or similar, with a 0.5 GPM (1.9 LPM) 80°Flat fan nozzle, at approximately 30 psi (2.1 bar) has shown to work well. Make sure that the sprayer, as well as any other equipment that the material will come into contact with is clean and dry. Do not contaminate the J-22 U.V. with other materials, solvents, or water. Do not thin. Apply uniformly without puddles. For removal of J-22 U.V., use Dayton Superior Citrus Peel (J-48). Old Concrete: Clean and restore surface as required. Apply two uniform applications as above. Note: On old concrete surfaces Dayton Superior recommends a more breathable sealer, such as Safe Seal Heavy Duty (J-24 H.D.) or Day-Chem Tuf Seal (J-35). |
| SPECIAL NOTES | | LIMITATIONS: For applications of a cure and seal in an enclosed structure, Dayton Superior recommends a water based product like the Safe Cure & Seal (J-18) or (J-19). Sprayers and equipment must have suitable type neoprene hoses and gaskets. Do not apply concrete or mortar toppings over sealed surfaces. Remove J-22 U.V. with Citrus Peel (J-48) before applying resinous (epoxy, polyester, urethanes, etc.) coatings. Do not store food containers directly on the floor, always place on pallets. Shelf life is one year. Warning: • Use with adequate ventilation • Keep out of the reach of children • Do not take internally • In case of ingestion, CALL A PHYSICIAN immediately.
