Dayton Superior C-3 Coil Half Hangers are 1/2" diameter coil hangers used on exterior structural steel beams. The free end is designed to be welded to the beam flange, or if welding is not permitted, can be bent around and back under the beam flange for a distance of approximately 2". C-3 Coil Half Hangers are designed for light duty loads only. Safe working load is dependent on the strength of bend or field weld. Tests should be conducted in the field to determine actual safe working loads before implementation.

Double Ended Strand Joints consist of two barrels joined by means of a hexagonal center plug. Both of the chamfered ends and the hexagonal center plugs incorporate wrench flats to facilitate quick and easy assembly. The Double Ended Joint also features safety pegs to ensure that the wedge and strand are fully engaged. Use of Double Ended Joints provides various costs savings, i.e., reducing waste, connecting different sizes of strands (reducing joint) and permits the use of one size jack head, nose and wedge when using more than one size of strands in a concrete unit.

Dayton Superior G-14 Heavy Duty Screed Holders consist of a rolled steel plate welded to a length of 1" diameter coil rod. The G-14 screed holder is used with a free-fit screed base to support screed pipe of various sizes. The "open style" is fabricated from grade 11 gauge steel and is limited to 2" O.D., or smaller, pipe. The "Closed style" is fabricated from 1/4" steel and is fitted with two 3/8" diameter set screws. The closed style holder can accommodate screed pipe up to 3" O.D.

Accubrace® System Helical Anchors

With the Accubrace total bracing system, Helical Ground Anchors (HGAs) are utilized in place of "dead men." The system consists of three pieces - a 7'0" HGA, a Connector and a 4'0" Helical Extension for deeper installations. This HGA brace achieves the loads required to match wall brace loads up to 12,000# SWL, 15,000# SWL with the extension.

HGAs installed into the soil provide an economic method for support of wall braces. The HGA must be installed to an installed torque to attain the loads required of the steel braces temporarily supporting the wall panels. The braces are bolted to the wall panel and to the top of the HGA via a transition connector.

Using high strength Accubrace braces to take advantage of the 12,000# minimum HGA SWL will reduce the number of braces and HGAs required per panel, therefor reducing the overall installed cost of braces and HGAs. Additionally, bracing to the outside can facilitate faster erection of structural steel.

C-24 90° and 15° Pres-Steel Half Hangers are manufactured with a single 1/2" end section welded to a jogged wire strut and are used where conditions prevent the use of standard double-ended hangers.

Standard Type C hangers (for concrete beams) measure 9" from the centerline of the bolt to the end of the strut. This style hanger is designed to be welded to the rebar stirrups of precast concrete bridge beams. Type 1-C has a 90° end section.

Type 8-C has a 15° end section. Standard Type S hangers (for steel beams) measure 6" from the centerline of the bolt to the end of the strut. These hangers are designed to be welded to the top surface of steel girders. Type 1-S has a 90° end section. Type 8-S has a 15° end section. Lengths other than standard are available. Contact Dayton Superior for additional information.

Dayton Superior interior hangers are identified by the configuration or the hanger end section used in the fabrication of the hanger. Unless otherwise noted, all end sections are designed to accept 1/2" diameter Coil Bolts or Coil Rod.

The C-60 45° Pres-Steel Hanger-Type 2-A consists of a 1/2" 90° end section and a 1/2" 45° end section welded to a single wire strut. The hanger allows installation and adjustment from the top of the formwork and works equally well on steel or precast concrete beams. The 90° end supports interior forming while the 45° end supports the overhang bracket on the exterior side of the beam. The Type 2-A hanger is designed to provide a 1" haunch relief.

The C-63 45° Pres-Steel Hook Hanger-Type 1-AB and Type 4-AB is manufactured with a 1/2" 45° end section welded to the end of a wire strut. The other end of the wire strut is welded to a reinforced 180° "wrap-around" steel strap. The wrap-around end is designed to slip over the flange of a steel bridge beam. Type 5-AB is similar to the Type 4-AB with the exception of the end section which is 3/4". These hangers are used when one-sided forming is required and field welding is prohibited. C-63 hangers can be furnished for electro-plated or hot dip galvanized corrosion resistance, if required.

Dayton Superior A-90 Scaffold Bracket Jack meets state building codes and OSHA minimum requirements and is used to support scaffolding on nearly any type of formwork. By changing the position of the pins in the vertical and horizontal members, the bracket can be quickly adjusted to fit 2x4, 2x6 or 2x8 wales or positioned flush against a wall. Attachment can be made to a concrete wall by attaching the bracket to an exposed coil tie, insert or other appropriate device.

The bracket has a 1" diameter pipe coupling welded to the vertical leg, which can be used in conjunction with a six-inch-long pipe nipple to attach the bracket to an exposed she-bolt inside rod. The A-90 Scaffold Bracket Jack folds for easy storage and convenient shipping. Replacement parts for the A-90 bracket are available on special order, contact a Dayton Superior Service Center for cost and availability.

D-103-A

The Dayton Superior Dowel Bar Splicer is a one-piece unit, integrally forged from ASTM A615 grade 60 deformed rebar material. The splicers are available in #4 through #11 rebar sizes to be used in conjunction with the corresponding size dowel-in to accomplish a mechanical splice designed to achieve 160% of specified yield (full mechanical ultimate). The splicer can be furnished straight (D-101-A) cut to length, 90° and 180° hooked (D-102-A and D-103-A) and double-ended (D-104-A) in plain or epoxy coated finish. The splicer can also be special-ordered with a reduced diameter washer flange or with the washer flange clipped (in more than one direction, if required) to provide adequate concrete cover, or to avoid interference. The D-104-A Double-Ended Dowel Bar Splicer is used to establish a direct load path through a concrete section, thus avoiding multiple hooked rebar and eliminating rebar congestion. The double-ended unit can be configured in a “U” shape for special applications.

3402-HP Joint Sealant

This hot pour sealant is a quality, hot-applied, one-component polymeric compound. 1614JFR-HP is designed to be applied in situations of both new and re-serviced joints (expansion and contraction) in concrete pavement that are subjected to fuel drips and/or leaks. When properly heated and applied to surfaces which have been cleaned of dirt, dust and debris, it offers excellent bonding, repeated weathering resiliency, compressive and expansive capabilities. This product is not compatible with asphaltic paving materials and should not be applied directly over asphalt fiber expansion joint materials. 1614JFR-HP is supplied as a liquid in five-gallon (18.93 liter) pails at a weight of 9.9 pounds per gallon (1.2kg per liter). The recommended kettle heating temperature is 270°F (132°C) with a pour temperature of 250°F (121°C).

The Dayton Superior 4"x4" Shore Clamp is designed to be used hundreds of times. The simple design consists of a rectangular collar of high strength rod and two pivotal, heavy-duty malleable castings. The plates have grooves scored into the surface for gripping the 4"x4". A hammer lug is provided to seat the clamp once the shore is installed. The 4"x4" Shore Clamp is designed to be used with standard 4"x4" lumber.

The Dayton Superior P-75-D 7.5 T Disposable Void Former was created to allow a large enough void for the P-77 Double T Anchor to utilize Crosby Hooks For Lifting of the double T and other precast products. The 7.5 T Disposable Void Former is a 2-part recess plug fabricated from high density polyethylene plastic. The two-piece design snaps together around the head of the anchor to securely grasp the anchor. The tight fit eliminates the concrete entering into the void. The design secures the anchor in proper position and maintains 1/2" clearance between top edge of the anchor and the top surface of the concrete. The tabs on the ends of the void former provide a convenient method to nail the assemble to a form. The Void Former is removed and discarded after usage.

The Dayton Superior T-4 Brace Anchor for Fill is a 3/4” diameter insert designed for anchoring wall braces to the floor slab. The angular offset of the legs provides a gauge and stop when the anchor is pushed into the fill. The T-4 anchor is furnished with a T-21 Locator Plug factory installed.

Brace Maintenance

During the construction process braces may be exposed to adverse conditions that could damage or render them unusable. Braces should be inspected for proper operation, damage and wear after each use. This inspection is typically performed by a Dayton Superior Certified Precast Dealer when the braces are returned. However, when braces are transferred from one job to another without being returned to Dayton Superior or its dealer for maintenance, the user must inspect all braces prior to their being reused. This inspection should check for missing parts, wear, dings, kinks, straightness, indication of any application of heat and/or other damage. Any brace that shows signs of wear, has missing parts, damage, or is questionable should be set aside and not used.

The C-54 Bridge Overhang Bracket Extender attaches to the end of the C-49 or C-49-D bracket's horizontal member to extend the usable working surface of the bracket. When used to support a walkway, each overhang bracket is required to have an Extender.

The C-49-D Bridge Overhang Bracket has all of the features of the C-49 bracket but has longer vertical and diagonal legs. The longer legs, and resulting increase in adjustment, allow the bracket to be used on deep structural steel beams to position the construction load transfer near the beam's bottom flange.
